Project Overview:
As a Commissioner with the Cooperative Gardens Commission (CGC), I contributed to increasing community food production and food sovereignty during the COVID pandemic. I joined the Media, Design & Messaging Working Group in April 2020 and became the facilitator for the Anti-Oppression and Allyship Working Group by late spring.
In 2020, CGC provided free seeds to an estimated 12,000 gardens through 257 local seed hubs in 41 states. By 2021, that number grew to 300 seed hubs. This report details CGC’s journey, goals, and opportunities for involvement.
Contributions:
• Applied branding established by Sarah Medina to the report and online collateral.
• Facilitated dispatches from working groups and seed hub reports.
• Developed a Patreon account for fundraising, including custom illustrations and keepsakes.
• Utilized the report for all-channel content, press outreach, and organizational networking.

All works shown here were gifted in honor of the stories that survivors shared with me.
Project Overview:
The goal was to create a graphic that would be fun in order to connect with college-age Indigenous community members of multiple age groups. It was decided to go for a throwback to 80’s pop culture. The monarch is representative of the connection between Idaho’s tribes and Latino/Hispanic/Latinx community members. The illustration is loosely based on a Pac-Man theme. The concept and production happened with group consensus.
